Art Karaoke: Love & Life (Abba: Chiquititta) Sometimes (Erasure: Sometimes) Your Chance To Live (Roxy Music) Art Is Love – video projections
These four short films on various topics constitute a part of the Art Karaoke project in which all the video works have been realized in the manner of the classic karaoke. The difference between the two types of karaoke is that in the artistic one the subtitles do not mach the song’s lyrics. Through the slight difference within a few letters of the word, meaning is altered for the benefit of the visual part. Through the obscure and commercial atmosphere of the karaoke medium, the works comment on an array of themes taken from both life and art.
Ivan Ožetski was born in 1976. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb 2002. In 2005 obtained Masters degree (M.F.A. – Master of Fine Arts) from the Fontys Academy of Fine Arts. Exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Currently lives and works in Zagreb.
Awards: 1999 Student Exchange Award from ALU and IUP universities.
