Goran Škofić: video-installation On the Beach (experimental film, 24 min)
+ promotion of the publication Interruptions
Exhibition opening: May 3, 2016 20h
For many years now, the multimedia artist Goran Škofić has been actively participating on the artistic scene, presenting his works both in Croatia and abroad. At the 90-60-90 Gallery / POGON Jedinstvo he will present his two new projects.
The new publication, titled Interruptions, will be first presented, as a result of the cooperation of the Milieu Gallery in Bern, Multimedia Cultural Centre in Split and Istrian Museum of Contemporary Art in Pula on Škofić’s exhibitions The Interruptions held in 2015. The publication includes recent works of the artist and photographs of the exhibition display, as well as texts written by the exhibition curators and art critics: Branka Benčić, Antun Maračić and Mladen Lučić. Ivan Klis is the author of the publication’s visual design.
The talk will be moderated by Branka Benčić, with guests Antun Maračić, Mladen Lučić, Goran Škofić and Ivan Klis.
Following the promotion of the publication, we will open the exhibition in which, in the form of video-installation, Goran Škofić will present his feature experimental film On the Beach / Na plaži. This film symbolizes a step forward in Škofić’s artistic work, in which the frame is no longer mediated by the depiction of an individual (the author’s body), but by a large group of people, depicting a “mass” leaving – somewhere. This depiction was not manipulated in the editing process, it was staged on the site of filming. The screenplay was written by Jasna Žmak and Goran Škofić. The film premiered at the 25th Croatian Film Days, in production by Kreativni Sindikat.
On the day of the exhibition opening, the video-projection will technically consist of two high-resolution projectors forming one universal image. The technical support to the exhibition has been provided by HIPERPRODUKCIJA d.o.o.
The exhibition can be visited on May 4 – 6 / 17 – 21h
The project is supported by the City Office for Education, Culture and Sports of the City of Zagreb and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia
